Built in the early 20th century to house the original and only newspaper at the time, the Newport Express and Standard. The three story brick structure had the newspapers’ offices on the ground floor, the production department in the basement, and the upper two stories had the residential suites for the owner and publisher. The paper moved to their current location in 1971.
